The Love Yourself Project: Entry #1



Welcome to The Love Yourself Project! Today I begin one of the strangest and most difficult journey's yet. This first entry is about restoring the balance in the way I see myself. Often times I can easily identify the things that I cannot stand about myself. It's simple. And it's definitely more than the number of fingers and toes I have.
I think the true learning starts, not by ignoring those things, but by allowing the things that you like to outweigh the things that you don't. That's the balance that needs restoring. I'm not going to lie. And I'm definitely not going to pretend that I didn't start this post days months in advance so that I could have the time to find ten things about myself that weren't terrible. It took me several months to get here. The truth is, I don't care how long it took, I'm just glad I got here.

Ten things I like about myself:

1. I am driven
2. I am an excellent planner
3. I am willing to change and improve myself
4. My eyelashes are pretty
5. My teeth are straight
6. My nails are shaped nicely and grow easily
7. I am diligent with medication and therapy
8. I am good at entertaining myself
9. I take good care of my hair
10. I work well under pressure


Five things I need to work on:


1. My self-esteem 
2. My need for academic perfection
3. My dissatisfaction with Christianity
4. I need to improve my eating habits
5. I need to be motivated and inspired by myself
